Louise Baldock was a Labour Councillor in the city of Liverpool for two terms, 2006 - 2014. I've just come back from a police community meeting in my ward this evening, where the sergeant taking the meeting, in response to a question raised by me, reported that burgulary was down in our area year on year.
I responded to him that this was good news, but made the point very strongly that some number cruncher somewhere had better not reduce our resourses on the grounds of the crime reduction.
