He is working very closely with the unions in particular. I confess that I am not fully aware of how decisions are being made or how they are being disseminated but I would strongly suggest that you and other worried colleagues keep in close contact with your shop stewards.

As to Paul publishing this information on the council's internal website, I should think it would be deemed to be too party political in its form as replicated here, and that is forbidden under legislation.

Information about the cuts coming to the council from the Government should be made available to all staff by their managers as they struggle to understand how cuts might best be made, and of course the headline detail will be published in the press as it is announced by the Government.

I entirely understand that it is a very difficult and frightening time for staff, as it is for councillors and how desperate everyone is for news. I will keep sharing whatever information I can with you all.Louise Baldockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08430662342062143143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21780743.post-2222830970265407142010-11-28T09:06:02.872+00:002010-11-28T09:06:02.872+00:00Louise,

I didn't tell them how I felt

Louise, you are to my knowledge a very hard working and staff friendly councillor, it is some of your colleagues who hide behind hatchet men and women that I wish to criticise.

And how do we resolve this dlemma, easy tell us directly, go and see the staff, stop telling the media you cannot sleep at night, because I can ensure their is plenty of staff not sleeping, as they will be worrying how to pay their bills.

Thank youAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21780743.post-35888583090977981282010-11-28T01:31:43.642+00:002010-11-28T01:31:43.642+00:00Hello, just to clarify, this information was passe...Hello, just to clarify, this information was passed forward to me by Cllr Paul Brant, Deputy Leader of the Council, and charge of finances, he wants me to share this with you, he wants you to know this stuff. If you want to criticise, please be clear about why you think you should not be told or how you think you should be told better than planned. Thanks to all and best wishes, LouLouise Baldockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08430662342062143143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21780743.post-4585966255475513362010-11-27T22:17:14.025+00:002010-11-27T22:17:14.025+00:00Louise,

I am not having a go at you personally, but after reading a report in this week Echo, that the Leader of the council is planning two mass events in the Echo Arena for staff goes beyond the pale.

Does staff now hear important information via the Echo and blogs instead of hearing it directly from the elected members of the voters of Liverpool?

Staff in Liverpool City Council, are being treated awfully by the ruling group, VS notices being given out if your face fits, 12 weeks notice payments withdrawn, and LDL charging the city £80 pounds to send letters to staff calculating there VS.

No wonder staff have such low morale. As I have said before I am not blaming you personally, but I feel that the backbenchers should be questioning the Leader and the Cabinet on what is happening.

Yes I work for the council, yes I am at risk(unlike my LDL collegues)and yes I voted Labour.

Will I again, maybe not, I will not vote for everyone else, but if staff are treated with distain it won't only be me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
